Activision Publishing made the decision to introduce the latest poker game in its range of poker offerings, the World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions, at this week’s E3 Expo after the success of its World Series of Poker video game last year. Currently, Activision Publishing expects a fall release for the Xbox 360 and various other major gaming platforms, including the PS3 and the PC.
 
World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions brings a number of new features to the table. A high-stakes poker game geared towards creating an authentic experience using the latest graphics. Included are a number of additional poker pros, so players can compete with their favourite poker characters. Most eagerly anticipated of all, though, is the brand new DigiMask Technology. This new technology enables players to map their own faces into the game. Now they can see themselves as they sit at some of the most prestigious tables in the world.
 
It’s not just about sitting at tables and playing to win, though, the game has a unique plot line. The player begins as a new poker player in the World Series of Poker Game (WSOP). They are preparing themselves to turn professional under the guidance of expert poker professional Chris “Jesus” Ferguson. Ferguson guides the player through the early stages of their career with expert tips and strategies to help them improve their performance.
 
Once the player has gained a firm footing in the game it’s up to them to enter the première Circuit Events. They have the goal of competing and defeating some of the most well-known professional poker players in the world. The final goal is to gain entry to the exclusive invitation-only tournament named the Tournament of Champions. This winner takes all event is located in Las Vegas at the Rio Resort Hotel and Casino.
