Baccarat Rules
Play High
Limit Baccarat at the
Sands
- The game is played
with up to eight decks
of cards
- Number cards are
worth their face
value, aces are
worth 1 and the
face cards are
worth 0
- The players at
the table each
bet on who will
have the better
hand: either “The
banker”, “The Player”
or a tie between the
two.
- The hand with
the highest total
score wins. The
score is computed
as the total of
the 2 cards. The
maximum score is
9. If the addition
of the two cards
results in a score
higher than 9,
than the second
digit of the total
will be used as
the new score (example:
a hand with a 7
and 5 will have
a score of 2 instead
of 12)
- After the hand
has been dealt,
the house dealer
will announce the
score to the other
player at the table.
- After the results
are announced, a
third card may be
dealt according
to the following
rules:
- If one of the
hands has a total
equal to 8 or 9, no
more cards will
be dealt.
- If “The
Player’s”
total is 5 or less
he draws another
card.
- If “The
Player” did
not draw
another card,
“The Banker”
will draw if he
has score
of 5 or less.
- If “The Player”
drew a third
card the banker
will automatically
draw with a
score of 2
or less
- With a score
of 3 and above
the drawing rules
are based on
“The Banker’s”
total score together
with the third
card drawn by
the player:
- Score of
3, “The Banker”
draws unless “The
Player” drew
an 8.
- Score
of 4,
“The
Banker”
draws unless
“The
Player”
drew 0,1,8,9.
- Score
of 5,
“The
Banker”
draws unless
“The Player”
drew
4,5,6,7
- Score
of 6, “The
Banker”
draws unless
“The Player”
drew 6,7.
- Score
of 7, “the
Banker”
does not
draw a
card.
- After
all the extra cards were
dealt the final winner
is announced. The Casino
will
pay 1:1 for all bets
on “The Player” and
19:20 for all bets
on “The banker” (a
5%
commission). In case of a tie, the casino pays 8:1 for all winning bets.
